He Needs To Be On Song Against Rangers – Celtic Legend On Bhoys Star

Former Celtic star Chirs Sutton believes that Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers needs Kyogo Furuhashi on song for the game against Rangers.

Under Ange Postecoglou, the 28-year-old Japanese forward scored 27 goals in 36 league games to help Celtic win the Scottish Premiership the previous season.

However, in the ongoing campaign, Kyogo has only managed to score seven times under new boss Rodgers and has scored only once in his last seven league appearances.

Sutton emphasized that Celtic players need to give Kyogo the proper assistance and that Rodgers will need the Japanese forward to be at the top of his game against Rangers on Saturday.

The former star of the Hoops thinks that Rangers will try to control the game at Parkhead, which could allow the Celtic forward space to take advantage of the Gers.

Sutton stated in his Daily Record column, “It’s going to be a balancing act for Rodgers and, whatever he decides, he needs Kyogo on song.”

To be fair, he might have the perfect matchup because, in the local game against Celtic, opposing teams usually sit deep and try to stifle space.

Rangers, though, won’t play defense.

They may want to get ahead and control the ball themselves, which could create some space for the home team to exploit.

“The striker for Celtic has nothing to prove, but if they can turn him into their main weapon right away, he can be their Old Firm matchwinner once more.”

Kyogo scored the game-winning goal for the Bhoys as Celtic defeated Rangers 1-0 in their previous meeting.
