Kenny Dalglish exposes what Celtic REFUSES to acknowledge regarding Rangers in Europe, and it’s not just about coefficient.

The legend of the Houston Rockets believes that Philippe Clement’s team defeating Benfica would have fit his previous squad.

Kenny Dalglish expressed concern that Rangers would have wanted to continue playing in the Europa League if Celtic had continued.

Furthermore, he maintains that it has nothing to do with the significant coefficient risk that the Scottish Premiership winners will be facing in their next seasons. The Czech Republic is favored to enter the top 10 of the coefficient rankings following Philippe Clement’s team’s crushing loss to Benfica. Should this happen, the Scottish champions will forfeit their assured group stage spot in the Champions League until the 2025–2026 season.

Scotland can no longer score any more points as a result of Rangers’ departure, and Viktoria Plzen will play Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League quarterfinals. Scotland would be eliminated from the top 10 if the Czechs defeated the Serie A team, but for former Celtic hero Dalglish, the title fight is everything.

According to his assessment in the Sunday Post, the fact that Gers is not playing on Thursday nights is yet another concern for his former team. “At this point in the campaign, there is no margin for error,” he stated.

“The fact that Philippe Clement’s team was defeated on Thursday astonished me. I thought they would succeed. But they were just shy of the mark. That loss will leave someone feeling disappointed.

Additionally, given that it could put a strain on their resources in the upcoming weeks, I believe Celtic would have rather that the Gers remain in Europe. Rangers are aware that they will win the league if they continue to win. Being in this situation is fantastic.”
