Idessane said [BBC Sportscene], “Interestingly, in front of me, Brendan Rodgers is getting the Celtic players together in a huddle to have a quick word with them and then he’s trying to applaud the home fans, but there’s hardly left here in Celtic Park.”
Taking a huddle? I have no issue with it. If anything I would have hoped Rodgers would have taken that opportunity to deliver another rocket to his players.
But somehow, I don’t think he would have. But doing the rounds to applaud a stadium that was almost empty? Isn’t that a wee bit strange?
Talk about not reading the room. The Celtic fans don’t want to see that kind of empty rhetoric. They would rather see the manager coming out and telling them exactly how he is going to fix this incredible slump in form
Here’s hoping the manager has had a few choice words to say to some players who are have clearly not been at it these past few weeks.
With Livingston up next and then Rangers at Celtic Park, Rodgers will need to ensure that there is no repeat performance of what was delivered against Hearts or else his chances of winning the title are gone.
