Following the Celtics defeat, Scott Brown broadcasts live on Sky Sports from the Rangers title view.

Even though Rangers came within five points of Celtic this past weekend, Scott Brown thinks Celtic still has the upper hand in the Scottish Premiership title battle.

At Rugby Park on Sunday, Matty Kennedy’s late goal gave Kilmarnock a surprising victory over Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Rangers have the opportunity to get closer to the current leaders after defeating Dundee 3-1 on Saturday and having a game remaining.

Rangers

Former Celtic player Brown claims that despite the gap, he expects Rodgers and his players to revive their form soon.

“There’s always going to be a little [blip] but good teams bounce back,” Brown told Sky Sports Football on Sunday (10 December, 02:30pm). “That’s what Brenden’s got and he’ll have them fired up for Hearts, I’m sure.

“It’ll be a huge game for him and he’ll make sure they get out of the traps, score goals and show that they are a top-quality team.

“There are five points in it and I know there’s a game in hand for Rangers but Celtic are still in a good position.”

Rangers

It’s in Rangers’ hands now.

If they can win this game in hand and then win the Old Firm derby at the end of December, they’ll be top of the table provided they don’t drop any points elsewhere.

Rangers are admittedly not playing amazingly well right now.

However, they are still picking up wins in the Scottish Premiership and grinding out results, such as the one against Dundee when they went down to 10 men.

Celtic are dropping points against the likes of Killie and Motherwell yet they have tougher games coming up against Hearts and Rangers.

It was nice to see Brown so upset after that defeat on Sunday with Kris Boyd smirking beside him.

We need to see some more of that please, Sky!
