“Concrete”: Celtic makes a signing offer; Brendan Rodgers’ team may have the upper hand in the transfer market

Brendan Rodgers concedes Celtic transfer work wasn't BRAVE enough but warns fans off 'looking for someone to blame' - Daily Record
Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has revealed his decision to retire at the end of season and Brendan Rodgers’ team have to bring in a replacement for him in the summer.

RKC Waalwijk’s Etienne Vaessen has been highlighted as a target for Celtic. Algemeen Dagblad, who was cited by Soccernews, claims that Celtic has “concrete” interest in the 28-year-old.

The goalie’s contract expires in the summer, and rumors have it that Celtic has already made him an offer. The report claims that he has “all the control in his hands” because of his contract arrangement.

Vaessen hasn’t decided on his future yet, but Brendan Rodgers’ team isn’t the only one in the running to sign him; PSV Eindhoven is also a possibility. His current goal is to keep RKC from being demoted.

Earnest Stewart, the director of the Eredivisie team, witnessed the Dutchman play against Vitesse last week. He is viewed by PSV as the perfect choice to replace Joël Drommel as backup.

Journalist Rik Elfrink of Eindhoven’s Dagblad stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, that PSV might close the transaction in April. Given that they now have five goalkeepers in the lineup, the Dutch team might decide against taking this action.

With Hart’s departure at the end of the current campaign, Brendan Rodgers’ team isn’t in this situation, which might offer them an advantage against PSV.

In the summer, Celtic and PSV might face off for Vaessen.
