The defender did not come back onto the pitch for the second half
Brendan Rodgers confirmed the extent of the issue which, ultimately, was not a full injury as the defender felt a tight hamstring. Nat Phillips came on for the American and Rodgers was relieved to explain the situation at full-time.
“Just a precaution. He felt his hamstring a little tight. He wanted to continue but there’s no point in risking him when we’ve got a centre-half on the bench,” he told BBC Sportsound.
“Greg Taylor did well to make the game as well he felt a bit of flu today so when we could take him off we did that to protect him.”
