Celtic star puts the jokes about the Yuletide season aside and opens up on what the champions did over the holidays.

This week, the only holiday party games that the Hoops team is competitive in are the three-point games.Brendan Rodgers gave his guys permission to spend Christmas Eve alone before spending the morning with their families. On Christmas day, however, it was back to work for today’s Boxing Day skirmish with Dundee.

Taylor was fine with putting the Christmas pranks aside since he understands that this is a strictly business phase of the season. “We were in a hotel,” he stated. Charades or anything similar wasn’t played! Because your family put in a lot of sacrifices during the season, you train a little later on Christmas Day to spend the morning with them. You may miss up to three games a week and stay in a lot of different hotels.

As much as it is an incredible honor to play professional football for this club and to be in such a privileged position, I would never take it for granted as a football player. However, today is one of the days you try to give back to them because they make so many sacrifices for us.

Since we had the day off on Christmas Eve, I celebrated. We loved it with the family and had them up. Quite typical—prawn cocktail, soup, ham, and turkey But wine is definitely not for me—I left that for other people!

Then, on Christmas Day, we trained in order to be prepared for Dundee. We want to end the many games we’ve played with great performances and fruitful outcomes. Boxing Day is when that begins versus Dundee.

Not to put too fine print on it, but Celtic looked and sounded more like themselves on Saturday against Livingston. After two straight league losses to Killie and Hearts, the performance felt more appropriate, and the ground felt more familiarly boisterous with the return of the Green Brigade.

After several weeks of pretending to be the champions, Taylor acknowledged that it was much more like it when Celtic won 2-0. However, it took until the second period for Celtic to make any kind of headway. “I would say so, it was very dominant,” he remarked. Livingston didn’t seem to truly fit into our category, in my memory. If we had taken one of our opportunities in the first half, it might have been a little bit easier, but in the second half, we kept up the pace and achieved the desired outcome.

The week was difficult. We received some criticism, which is understandable given our poor league results. We were aware that we had to perform, and we did so for the most part. The supporters were excellent. The stadium was fully packed, which was wonderful. That was beneficial to us.

It’s understandable that they were a little irritated when we failed to score in the first half. Our duty is to maintain composure. While it’s ideal, we can’t always win the game in the first half. At Celtic, you are aware that even one loss may be disastrous, much alone two. Even if the Champions League in the middle was a better performance, it wasn’t nearly good enough. It was about figuring very fast that the two league games weren’t at our level. A lot of forward running, strong power, and positioning were evident.

Over the weekend, there was a discernible shift in the Celtic strategy. It was quicker and sharper, and Kyogo was able to score after being without a point for seven games because to this strategy. For the striker, it’s all about the service, and he’s finally got something to work for.

“He did well for his goal, getting in at the back stick,” Taylor stated. In the first half, he could have had a few. This week has been difficult for all of us, including Kyogo. It’s important to get him in the appropriate places since it’s likely that he hasn’t had as many opportunities as he would have liked. The goal was to attempt those runs. It’s challenging to counter a deep, low block and back five since there isn’t much room.

Sometimes you have to rush into a zone where you’re never going to get the ball in the hopes of dragging someone else’s body and creating space for them. Many were against Livi, yet it was still good to have the desired outcome and performance.
