In the forthcoming transfer window, Brendan Rodgers and Celtic are anticipated to cut a number of marginal players from the Bhoys roster.

The Bhoys manager has acknowledged that his current roster is too big and that he plans to cut the first team down to about 25 players between January and the summer of next year.

Work has already started, and the first confirmed exit may happen soon.

Yosuke Ideguchi, a midfielder for Celtic, has reportedly decided to sell for £870,000 to Vissel Kobe in Japan, ending his disastrous transfer to the Bhoys, according to The Daily Record.

During the reign of Ange Postecoglou, Ideguchi arrived in the same transfer window as Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda, but he was unable to have the same influence as his countrymen.

Soon after joining the Hoops, the midfield player suffered a regrettable injury in a Scottish Cup match, and he only made six appearances overall.

For the 2023 J-League season, he signed a loan with Avispa Fukuoka, where he made 32 appearances and showed great play, getting nominated for Player of the Year.

Vissel Kobe now seems to have prevailed in the competition for his signature, which will enable Celtic to recover the original signing bonus.

Expect to hear official confirmation of his permanent transfer within the coming few weeks, as the J-League transfer window officially begins in mid-January ahead of their 2024 campaign.

Many other prominent players are expected to depart the Bhoys next month as Rodgers tries to move individuals who aren’t making a huge contribution right now.

Hopefully, it creates room for the Celtic management to bring in the “quality.”
