Celtic ramps up in response to Adidas’s misfire

It doesn’t seem like Celtic’s most recent reveal of their Origins shirt has connected with their fan base the way they had planned.

As of 36 hours after its publication, the new collection has received 10 retweets out of a large social media push, although fans’ reactions seem to indicate that the collection has not yet captured the imagination or atmosphere that was planned. In fact, many people have deemed the new collection’s push to be excessive.

The Origins top is the club’s attempt to honor its history at a time when supporters have already contributed a substantial sum of money to the team by buying training gear, home, away, and third jerseys in addition to a special anniversary kit honoring the Hoops. Not to mention the actual expenses of watching Celtic every other week, not to mention the Adidas trainers that were worn everywhere.

Many people feel that this most recent addition to the club’s clothing lineup is a step too far, especially in light of questions about how the money made from these sales is being reinvested in the playing team.
