Chairman Peter Lawwell stated that Celtic supporters “won’t forgive” if they don’t win the championship this year following the January farce.

It was entirely appropriate for Celtic supporters to demonstrate against the board during their match versus Aberdeen.

Former Hoops and West Ham striker Peter Lawwell, the chairman of Celtic, came under fire from Football Insider exclusively for supervising a subpar January transfer window and for his lack of football knowledge.

During their 1-1 draw with the Dons at Pittodrie on Saturday, 3 February, fans were observed waving anti-board placards and chanting anti-board songs.

Many Celtic supporters were not happy with the team’s winter business and were incensed at their seeming lack of ambition in light of rival Rangers’ ongoing progress under Philippe Clement.

If the Hoops don’t win the championship this year, McAvennie threatened to “forgive” the board and manager Brendan Rodgers, and he pushed the team to acquire players who are ready for the starting lineup.

He told Football Insider, “I don’t think anyone would say fans aren’t justified in being angry.”

“It’s absurd, and I don’t understand why Rangers have spent more than us.

“Lawwell, what is his football record?

“He isn’t adding guys who will help the team out.

“We need quality players today; it’s all well and good to bring in young players and prospects for the future.

If they don’t win the league this year, the supporters won’t put up with the management or the board.

The fans are enraged because they haven’t spent any of the money they’ve claimed to have since they’ve come out and blew their trumpet.

“They have invested money on players, but none of them are immediate starters.

“It appears that we are out of ideas.”
