Brendan Rodgers Is Upfront About Celtic’s Transfer Schemes

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for new talent to bolster his squad, having only been able to welcome Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna thus far in the January window.

Brendan Rodgers paves the way for Celtic transfer exits this month

Along with Yang, Liel Abada, Mikey Johnston, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest, and Luis Palma, Kuhn is expected to improve the team’s options on the wings.

Before the month is out, Rodgers is eager to add more players to the squad, especially a striker. Given that Maeda and Hyeongyu Oh are gone at the Asian Cup, leaving Yogo Furuhashi as the only available striker for the forthcoming games in February, this requirement becomes even more urgent.

As reported by The Herald, Rodgers voiced his worries over the weekend, saying, “It’s an area we have to look at, we can’t ignore it.” Yogi has been excellent here, but there needs to be a balance struck between challenging someone and admitting that’s a hard sell to them. Or is it a rookie who has the ability to develop and get better? Those are the kinds of things you consider, since those guys’ absence [from the Asian Cup and the African Cup of Nations] will only be temporary. Yes, availability is the most important factor.

“It’s also one that we have been looking at for a while, and it would have really changed if Yogo had left with Japan,” he continued. Our thought process was that, in reality, we would be left alone.

The dynamic alters when he plays almost one game every week for several weeks. It is about bringing in the appropriate players. It’s simple to add players. However, occasionally it requires some patience and time. The winger we desired is here, and we still want to strengthen a few more spots. Great if we can work out a deal with the players and they are available. We’ll move on to the summer if not. Only if the appropriate players are unavailable will it occur.

In the second half of the season, Rodgers will need to make sure the team is capable of handling any situation, especially if Yogo is sidelined or injured. Does Rodgers still have enough confidence in his current striking options? Well, not the Celtics supporters!

The South Korean still has potential, even after returning from international duty, but as Rodgers notes, it’s difficult to persuade a player to sign on as Yogo’s backup.

Although it’s a difficult recruiting task, it’s essential to maintain the team prepared for the difficulties ahead. The January window has ten days remaining. Celtic’s title challenge is in risk if they are unable to locate the appropriate people.
