Brendan Rodgers provides an update on Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Celtic decides to take an international break.

Brendan Rodgers provides update on Cameron Carter-Vickers after Celtic Park injury concern

The Bhoys’ excellent performance at Parkhead can only help Brendan Rodgers’ players psychologically as they head into the international break at the top.

The 29-year-old Kyogo Furuhashi scored off a Nicolas Kuhn center and then returned the favor early in the second half to assist Kuhn in scoring the team’s second goal. The Saints defense was unable to stop Furuhashi’s amazing movement.

James Forrest came off the bench to score his third goal, putting home a powerful left-footed shot after Matt O’Riley’s assist had been positioned just so.

Connor Smith of the visitors answered back, but all in all, the Hoops had a fantastic start to their St. Patrick’s Day festivities this weekend, so there was no cause for concern.

We will now need to wait a few weeks for our (senior Men’s) Celtic fix due to the international break, but Rodgers has revealed that plans are in place to keep his squad competitive at Lennoxtown.

“There’s still work to be done, so there will be some rest,” he stated. “We’ll have a game behind closed doors to get one or two of our players up to speed.”

On Sunday, March 31, the Scottish Premiership football season resumed to the Tony Macaroni Arena, and Livingston was primed for action.
