The Hoops are on course for another January signing.
In their quest to add a striker for Brendan Rodgers at the last minute, Celtic has now achieved a transfer breakthrough.

Following Rodgers’ return, the Hoops had a busy summer as several new players arrived at Celtic Park.

This month, the Hoops have added just one player to their roster: Nicolas Kuhn, a winger from Rapid Vienna. Despite recent complaints from the stand, Rodgers’ team is leading the battle for another Scottish Premiership title on the field.
Consequently, Celtic executives seem to be searching for a new striker in the last hours of the transfer window, but it’s not Sydney van Hooijdonk.
Celtic make Adam Idah transfer breakthrough
A physical has already been conducted, and Celtic have reached an agreement to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City, according to Football Insider reporter Pete O’Rourke.
Adam Idah, a striker for Celtic, has agreed to a contract with Norwich City, and on Wednesday, he will have a medical in London, according to sources who spoke to Football Insider. The 22-year-old is rumored to have begun medical testing in advance of his loan transfer to Parkhead.
“A comprehensive agreement has been reached between the Hoops and the Canaries, allowing the Republic of Ireland international to join for the balance of the season. Football Insider was informed by reliable sources that Idah is eager to move to the Scottish league leaders this month.
Idah has played all of his senior football for the Canaries after coming through the academy at Carrow Road.
Adam Idah stats | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Norwich | 115 | 17 | 4 |
Republic of Ireland | 22 | 3 | 0 |
The 22-year-old has scored seven goals this season, and analyst Carlton Palmer praised him after his performance against the Netherlands, when he gave Nathan Ake and Virgil van Dijk problems.
“The center forward for Norwich City, Adam Idah, has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign. In his seven club and national outings, he has three goals. And it’s a good boost for Norwich given that Josh Sargent is injured.
“He looks lively and his pace caused a lot of problems for very good center backs Nathan Ake of Manchester City and [Virgil] van Dijk of Liverpool in the Ireland international game.”
“Norwich hopes that after this performance, he will have the confidence to keep scoring in the Championship, even against defenders who are far, far less skilled than van Dijk and Ake.”
Now, it will be up to Celtic to hope that his “impressive” recent form continues at Parkhead. Based on the way things are going, it won’t be long until a transfer is confirmed and Idah can attack on par with players like Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeon-gyu Oh.
