Concerning news about Birmingham City from BirminghamLive includes Ethan Laird’s injury sustained during the match against Rotherham.
Ethan Laird’s limping departure from Birmingham City’s encounter against Rotherham United midway through the first half has caused them to suffer yet another injury setback.
Due to a hamstring problem, the right-back has just now made a full recovery after a lengthy injury layoff. Laird, who was rested against Blackburn Rovers in midweek, is back in the starting lineup today after starting four of the last five Blues games.
However, Laird was forced to be replaced by Cody Drameh in the 25th minute due to an injury he suffered against Rotherham. As he walked off the field and toward manager Wayne Rooney, the 22-year-old seemed quite distraught.
Before the defender went through the tunnel to get treatment, Rooney gave Laird an embrace.
Laird, who joined Blues from Manchester United in the summer, has only made nine appearances. Rooney will be praying the injury is not too serious for Laird. Due to injuries, the Blues are already without George Hall, Tyler Roberts, Kevin Long, and Keshi Anderson.
