‘Big call’… Jim Duffy says Brendan Rodgers has done something at Celtic he has never seen before

The lack of attacking purpose displayed by the Celtics this season has left the supporters angry.

Not only has Brendan Rodgers implemented a different style of play than we have seen in the previous two seasons under Ange Postecoglou, but he has changed the entire dynamic of the team.

Supporters of Celtics have grown up witnessing football played “the Glasgow Celtic way.” Quick, intense, and intimidating squads.

We recite it under the names of Ronny Deila, Tommy Burns, Martin O’Neil, and Neil Lennon. However, this season’s football under Rodgers has not been what we’re used to.

On Sunday, though, there was a small shift as a result of certain system adjustments made by the Celtic boss, and former Morton manager Jim Duffy was impressed.

The 64-year-old stated he thought it was intriguing that Rodgers made such a significant call since he hasn’t done so this season while discussing Celtic’s victory over St. Mirren.

Duffy stated [Superscoreboard], “You expect Celtic to progress even if they’re not playing at their best. Rangers are playing as well as they have, so it’s not like Celtic are blazing on all cylinders.

“What interests me is that, for the first time, I’ve noticed that Brendan Rodgers made a small adjustment.” I am aware that he has placed Kyogo in the tenth spot on a few occasions.

However, he has concluded the last two games with a 4-2-3-1 and obtained the victory over Hibs. He defeated St. Mirren with an early 4-2-3-1 score.

“So, I’m just curious to see if he’ll change his preferred style.”

The question that will intrigue the Celtic fan is whether or not Rodgers will start the Kilmarnock game the same way he did against St Mirren.

Since Derek McInnes’ team has proven to be difficult to beat, Rodgers may choose to use Idah as a target man once more in an effort to overcome the Ayrshire team.

What will happen when Reo Hatate gets back to his optimal level of fitness? Will Rodgers become the same old guy? Every query that will get an answer as the season progresses.

The Celtic supporters, though, will be hopeful that their squad continues where it left off and wins all three points on Saturday.
