Reports, however, now appear to indicate that Abada may be departing Celtic—possibly permanently or just on loan. Stephen McGowan of the Scottish Daily Mail was the journalist that covered this, and as we all know, he is typically up to date on all things Celtic.
According to this Daily Mail report, the situation between Israel and Palestine in the Middle East is the most obvious explanation for this.
The Green Brigade’s sympathy for Palestine, well-known Israeli figures who have spoken out against them, and their counsel to Liel are all covered in McGowan’s piece. Thus, the most of it was not novel.
But could this be a story with more depth? Liel must be in a difficult circumstance, after all. Naturally, he refrained from joining the rest of the players in celebrating the victory over St. Mirren in Paisley. When he rejoined the team at Celtic Park, he strolled across the field alongside his colleagues, but he stayed far back as the players neared the North Curve.

Hopefully Liel chooses to remain where she is and it’s nothing more. The club members adore him. You witnessed the reaction he received when he replaced the Rangers as a substitute. Every man, woman, and child in the stadium applauded him.
Like every other player in this organization, he is greatly welcomed. Celtic is still an inclusive club. We wish to keep him around. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, although Celtic showed a lot of interest in Liel throughout the summer and would probably not obstruct him if he wanted to go.
