Carolina Panthers urged to bolster options with veteran edge rusher

Could this be a potential option for the Carolina Panthers?

Being in a small market and having a disappointing season in 2023 didn’t bode well for the Carolina Panthers’ primetime appearances this season.

Throughout a campaign that will be remembered as one of the worst in team history, their performances were nearly unbearable to even the most ardent supporter. The Chicago Bears were awarded the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after a disastrous season.

There’s no point staring in the rearview mirror with regret now. All signs point to success for the Panthers under new head coach Dave Canales, who has rapidly turned the page and is seeking to develop his own culture based on positivism, taking things one day at a time, and fundamentally good football.

The franchise’s culture has changed significantly since Frank Reich’s lackluster coaching and David Tepper’s meddling ownership overshadowed the previous season’s failures. Aside from the token gesture that each team receives once a season, it will take much more to persuade media companies that they are deserving of the spotlight.

Carolina Panthers will have no primetime games in 2024.

Unfortunately, this proved to be the case yet again. Carolina has no games on the national television schedule. It’s also another stain on Tepper’s ownership and how the billionaire’s activities have hampered the Panthers since he purchased the team from Jerry Richardson.

This should not come as a huge shock to the system. The Panthers haven’t produced an electric football product worthy of primetime games since their 2015 Super Bowl run. Under Tepper, the organization has devolved into total disarray.

Of course, they will have the opportunity to be the only game on television that the whole NFL globe watches. Carolina’s international game versus the New York Giants took place in the Allianz Arena in Germany, home to FC Bayern Munich, the perennial Bundesliga champions.

For those who cannot make the journey, this will be held at 9.30 a.m. Eastern Time rather than beneath the lights. However, it’s an opportunity for the Panthers to put on a show that will make schedulers reconsider disregarding Canales’ men for primetime games in 2025.

In reality, no one should be too concerned about the Panthers’ perceptions throughout the league right now. Fans understand that they are often labeled as the underachiever or the laughingstock. The most important thing is to regain a sense of competitiveness, pride, and belief.

Following that, everything should fall into place. Especially if Tepper follows through on his commitment to keep out of football issues from now on.
