Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris was stretchered off with a neck injury during a win over the New York Giants; Bills claim the 26-year-old has mobility in his arms and legs, and tests have come back normal; Harris is in his first season with the Bills after joining the team in free agency.
Damien Harris, a Buffalo Bills running back, was rushed off the field in an ambulance after suffering a neck injury late in the second quarter of Sunday night’s 14-9 victory over the Giants.
Harris suffered a hit after connecting with Giants defender Bobby Okere and remained on the ground as the whole Bills sideline surrounded him, causing the game to be delayed by around five minutes.
Harris flashed a thumbs up motion before being placed into the ambulance, and Bills subsequently stated that the 26-year-old had movement in his arms and legs.
Buffalo coach Sean McDermott said Harris’ scans came back normal.
McDermott told reporters, “It’s my understanding that he has full mobility. Based on the reports we have, he appears to be on the right track.
Dion Dawkins, a Bills offensive tackle, claimed he checked Harris’s respiration before stepping aside while his teammate received assistancce.
Bills’ Damar Hamlin, who suffered a heart collapse on the pitch earlier this year, watched from the sidelines and appeared extremely distressed.
