Bristol Rovers defender poised to return from loan spell away

Jones, 21, has only managed to make two appearances so far because he fractured his arm early in his stint with Andy Woodman’s team. As they aim for promotion to the Football League, the Ravens are presently second in the fifth division, behind Chesterfield.

BristolLive reports that he is “expected” to return to his parent club this winter, and the Gas have not yet disclosed their plans for what to do with him going forward. This is the most recent news regarding his predicament at Hayes Lane.

Jones’s Bristol Rovers contract, which was extended by an additional year this past summer, ends at the end of this current campaign. The Pirates must decide what to do with him in the long run.

After drawing their attention while playing in the non-league for Weston-super-Mare, he signed a contract with the League One team back in 2020.

The young player has played six games for the Gas in all competitions since making his debut in an EFL Cup match against Cheltenham Town in 2021.

Jones is also no stranger to going out on loan; in the past, he spent time developing at Bath City and Hungerford Town.

Under new manager Matt Taylor, Bristol Rovers recently achieved a remarkable 2-1 victory away against Bolton Wanderers.
