SO DEVASTATING: Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters issues a statement after alarming footage of Reece Walsh.

Broncos coach Kevin Walters faced criticism for leaving Reece Walsh on the field until late in their 34-10 victory over the Wests Tigers.

During the second half, the superstar fullback appeared to be experiencing difficulty on the pitch, raising concerns among spectators.

Walsh struggled to his feet when making tackles, vomited after scoring his second try, and grabbed his calf and knee with what appeared to be a cramp.

Despite this, the Queensland No. 1 stayed on the pitch until late in the game.

Walters reassured football fans that Walsh was well and had sustained no significant injuries.

Kevin Walters (pictured) has faced criticism for not taking Reece Walsh off the field until late in Saturday’s game. “He (Walsh) had vomiting first, and then he had cramps,” Walters stated.

‘He got every injury known to man tonight, but he’s fine; he’ll be back next week, so that’s a wonderful thing.’

Adam Reynolds was also struggling near the end of yesterday night’s game, leaving in the 77th minute with cramps.

Jock Madden will undergo scans on his pectoral injury, while top players Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam battle against the clock to be ready for the Broncos’ grudge match against the Sydney Roosters.

Madden, who played five-eighth, departed the field in the 61st minute of Saturday night’s 34-10 victory over the Wests Tigers in Campbelltown.

He will have scans on Monday to determine the extent of any damage.

Cobbo (shoulder) and Brisbane’s regular No.6 Mam (finger) missed the Tigers game.

The pair will train on Tuesday, when their injuries will be examined before of Friday night’s game against the Roosters at Suncorp Stadium.

Reece Walsh and Adam Reynolds both failed to finish the game for the Broncos due to muscle cramps that left them barely able to walk.

The previous time the Broncos faced the Roosters, in March’s high-profile season opening in Las Vegas, Mam was referred to as a’monkey’ by Tricolours prop Spencer Leniu, who was later suspended for eight weeks for the racial epithet.

The event, reported by Mam to officials on the field and confirmed in writing by teammates after the game, sets up a heated rematch.

Following Saturday’s Tigers victory, Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters stated that Mam and Madden were doubtful for the Roosters game.

When queried about the duo’s predicted availability, Walters replied, “I don’t think (Mam) would play… and Jock, possibly not.”

We will come up with something. I am not sure. Jock is pretty sore, and it’s a shorter turnaround, but we’re not going to put Ezra at risk so early in the season.

‘We could play anyone there, and they’d do the job for us.’

If both are unavailable, Walters might move the flexible Tristan Sailor to No. 6 or move Billy Walters, who has already played in the halves at NRL level, from No. 9.
