TRANSFER NEWS: West Ham is competing with Brentford to secure the signing of a star player valued at over £46 million…

Brentford has been closely monitoring Palmeiras’ young talent, Luís Guilherme, according to a Brazilian report. The 18-year-old, who progressed through Palmeiras’ youth system, joined their first team in 2023 and has since made 43 appearances, primarily as a substitute, contributing a goal and an assist.

Who is Luis Guilherme - Palmeiras' new wonderkid?

Interest in Guilherme has come from multiple clubs, with Brentford now among them. As reported by Nosso Palestra, the Bees are ‘interested in signing’ him during the summer transfer window. They have already reached out to Palmeiras, although they have not yet made a formal bid, but are ‘considering making an offer’ for the teenager.

Brentford approached Palmeiras to gauge Guilherme’s situation before potentially submitting a proposal. His contract runs until 2026 and includes a €55m release clause. The report does not specify the amount Brentford might offer, but it is unlikely to approach the buyout clause.

Guilherme, who turned 18 earlier this year, can move to Europe immediately if Brentford reaches an agreement with Palmeiras.
