“The Black Crowes Announce First Studio Album in 15 Years — ‘Southern Harmony Reborn’ Set for Fall 2025 Release”
In a move that has thrilled rock fans worldwide, The Black Crowes have officially announced the release of their first new studio album in over 15 years. Titled Southern Harmony Reborn, the album is scheduled to drop on October 10, 2025, marking a monumental return to original material for the Robinson brothers since their 2009 record, Before the Frost…Until the Freeze.
The announcement came during their headlining set at the Boston Calling Music Festival, where frontman Chris Robinson surprised the crowd by debuting a new single, “Midnight Revival.” The track, steeped in gritty Southern blues and swirling Hammond organ, instantly drew comparisons to their early ’90s heyday.
Rich Robinson shared in a press release, “This album is us reconnecting with what made this band powerful in the first place — soulful riffs, heartfelt lyrics, and music that breathes.” The band recorded Southern Harmony Reborn in Nashville over the past year, working with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, known for his work with Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile.
Fans can expect ten new tracks, all written and recorded by the current lineup, which includes returning bassist Sven Pipien and drummer Cully Symington. A deluxe edition will also feature live acoustic versions and rare studio demos from the early ’90s.
To support the album, The Black Crowes are planning a global tour beginning in early 2026, with dates across North America, Europe, and Australia.
For fans who have waited patiently through breakups, side projects, and reunions, Southern Harmony Reborn is more than just a new record — it’s a resurrection of a sound that defined a generation of Southern rock.
