Ritchie Blackmore announce release date for his new album Ethereal Dreams
Legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has announced the official release date for his upcoming album Ethereal Dreams, the latest offering from his folk-rock project, Blackmore’s Night. The album is scheduled to drop on May 24, 2025, marking the band’s first studio release in over five years.
Known for his pioneering work with Deep Purple and Rainbow, Blackmore has spent the past two decades exploring medieval and Renaissance-inspired music alongside his wife and vocalist, Candice Night. Ethereal Dreams promises a return to the duo’s mystical and acoustic roots, blending poetic storytelling with Blackmore’s signature melodic guitar work.
“This album reflects the magical, introspective journey we’ve been on,” said Night. “It’s filled with the atmosphere and emotion that fans of Blackmore’s Night have come to love. We can’t wait to share it.”
The album will feature a collection of new songs inspired by folklore, nature, and romanticism, all wrapped in rich acoustic textures and ethereal harmonies. It aims to capture the timeless quality that has defined Blackmore’s Night since their debut in the late 1990s.
To accompany the release, the band will embark on a limited tour starting in June 2025. Due to Blackmore’s recent health challenges—including a heart attack in 2023 and ongoing issues with arthritis and back pain—the tour will focus on select cities, with careful planning to accommodate his recovery and comfort.
Pre-orders for Ethereal Dreams will begin on April 30, with special edition packages including signed CDs, vinyl, and exclusive merchandise available through the official Blackmore’s Night website.
With this new album, Ritchie Blackmore continues to demonstrate his artistic evolution—merging the past with the present in a soundscape that’s uniquely his own.
