
Patti Smith, the legendary punk poet and singer-songwriter, has announced a series of significant events marking pivotal milestones in her illustrious career. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album, Horses, Smith will embark on a world tour performing the album in its entirety. The tour is set to commence on October 6, 2025, in Dublin, with performances across Europe, the United Kingdom, and North America, concluding on November 29 in Philadelphia. Original collaborators Lenny Kaye (guitar) and Jay Dee Daugherty (drums) will join Smith, alongside bassist/keyboardist Tony Shanahan and her son, Jackson Smith, on guitar.
The Horses album, released in 1975, is hailed as a seminal work that significantly influenced the punk movement. Its impact is underscored by its preservation in the U.S. Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
In addition to the tour, Smith will release a new album titled Correspondences Vol II on March 21, 2025. This forthcoming release is a collaboration with Soundwall Collective, offering fans fresh material ahead of the tour.
