Netflix Announces Suede Documentary “The Insatiable Ones” Set for April 2025 Release
Netflix has officially confirmed the upcoming global release of Suede: The Insatiable Ones, a compelling new documentary about the iconic British rock band Suede. The film is scheduled to premiere on April 9, 2025, and promises to offer fans an unprecedented glimpse into the rise, fall, and rebirth of one of the most influential bands of the Britpop era.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mike Christie, The Insatiable Ones traces Suede’s dramatic career trajectory — from their early 1990s breakthrough to their internal struggles, temporary breakup, and eventual reunion. The documentary includes rare archival footage, unseen home videos, and behind-the-scenes moments that shed light on the band’s creative process and personal lives.
At the heart of the film are candid, emotionally raw interviews with frontman Brett Anderson, original guitarist Bernard Butler, keyboardist Neil Codling, and other key members and collaborators. Viewers will gain insight into the band’s formative years, their pioneering sound, and the personal tensions that nearly tore them apart at the height of their fame.
Netflix describes the documentary as “a poetic and honest portrait of ambition, artistry, brotherhood, and survival in the ever-evolving world of rock music.” The film takes its name from a lyric in Suede’s 1993 song “The Drowners,” symbolizing both the passion and pain that defined the band’s legacy.
The announcement of the documentary comes as Suede continues their 2025 European tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their critically acclaimed album Dog Man Star. With festival performances lined up in Spain — including at Spring Festival (May 30–31) and Mallorca Live Festival (June 12–14) — the band shows no signs of slowing down.
Suede fans and music lovers alike can look forward to an intimate, visually rich exploration of a band that shaped a generation. Suede: The Insatiable Ones will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
