Netflix Announces ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’: A Definitive Status Quo Documentary
Netflix has officially greenlit Rockin’ All Over the World, a definitive documentary chronicling the six-decade legacy of British rock legends Status Quo. The film, set for release later this year, promises to dive deep into the band’s storied history—from their humble beginnings in the 1960s to becoming one of the most enduring and best-loved names in rock ‘n’ roll.
Directed by acclaimed music documentarian Mat Whitecross (Supersonic, Oasis Knebworth 1996), the documentary will feature rare archival footage, never-before-seen home videos, and candid interviews with current and former band members. Fans can also expect appearances from notable figures in the music world who were influenced by the Quo’s signature boogie rock sound.
Status Quo, best known for hits like “Rockin’ All Over the World,” “Down Down,” and “Whatever You Want,” have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Despite lineup changes and evolving musical landscapes, the band’s relentless energy and commitment to live performance have kept them relevant for generations of fans.
In a statement, Whitecross called the documentary “a love letter to one of the hardest-working bands in rock history,” promising an honest and electrifying look at the highs and lows of life on and off the road.
This announcement comes as part of Netflix’s ongoing investment in music documentaries, following successful titles on artists such as Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Metallica. For fans of Status Quo and music history buffs alike, Rockin’ All Over the World is shaping up to be a must-watch celebration of rock resilience and rhythm.
No official release date has been confirmed, but production is already underway.
