Netflix has officially announced the release date for “A Light Never Goes Out: With The Smiths,” a comprehensive documentary exploring the history and legacy of the influential British band. Directed by Granaz Stafford, the 90-minute film delves into The Smiths’ 13-year career, from their formation in 1982 to their disbandment in 1987.
The documentary features exclusive interviews with all four original band members—Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke, and Mike Joyce—providing an intimate look at their creative processes and personal dynamics. Additionally, the film includes insights from producer Stephen Street, musician Holly Johnson, and journalist Nancy Elizabeth Spungen, offering a well-rounded perspective on the band’s impact.
