Motörhead Officially Announce Release of Never-Before-Heard Lemmy Recordings for 50th Anniversary Celebration
In a monumental moment for rock history, Motörhead have officially announced the release of Lemmy Lives Forever—a brand-new album featuring never-before-heard recordings of the legendary Lemmy Kilmister. Set to drop in November 2025, the release is part of the band’s epic 50th anniversary celebration and promises to be one of the most significant tributes to Lemmy since his passing in 2015.
The album will include unearthed studio tracks, rare demos, and alternate takes from various eras of Motörhead’s golden years. Many of these recordings were discovered in Lemmy’s personal archive and have been carefully restored and produced by longtime Motörhead collaborator Cameron Webb. The result is a raw, authentic collection that captures the spirit of the band at full throttle.
Former guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee have contributed personal notes to the release, offering fans an intimate glimpse into the creative process behind these unreleased gems. A deluxe edition of the album will also feature a behind-the-scenes documentary, exclusive photos, and collectible memorabilia.
“This is Lemmy at his most untamed,” said Mikkey Dee in an official statement. “These songs remind us why Motörhead wasn’t just a band—it was a way of life. Hearing his voice again on something new is emotional, powerful, and totally badass.”
The announcement has sent waves through the global rock community, with fans and musicians alike celebrating the chance to experience Lemmy’s voice and bass thunder once more. Pre-orders for Lemmy Lives Forever will open in August 2025.
With this release, Motörhead not only honors its past but ensures that Lemmy’s legacy continues to shake the foundations of rock for generations to come.
Louder than ever. Lemmy lives forever.
