Millie Bobby Brown Reflects on Decision to Marry Husband Jake Bongiovi at a ‘Very Young’ Age: ‘Everything Aligned’
Millie Bobby Brown, the 20-year-old Stranger Things star, has opened up about her decision to marry Jake Bongiovi at a young age, emphasizing that she felt it was the right time and that “everything aligned” for their love story.
In a recent interview, Brown spoke candidly about her journey with Bongiovi, the 22-year-old son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, and why they felt ready to tie the knot despite their youth. “People might say we’re young, and yes, we are. But when you know, you know,” Brown shared. “For me, love is about finding someone who understands you, respects you, and wants to grow with you. Jake has been that person since day one.”
The couple, who first sparked dating rumors in 2021 before confirming their relationship on social media, got engaged in April 2023. They later had an intimate wedding ceremony in early 2024, surrounded by close friends and family. Brown acknowledged that while some might see their marriage as premature, she feels confident in the bond they share.
“My parents married young, and so did Jake’s,” she explained. “We both grew up seeing strong, lasting relationships, and that really shaped our views on love. We weren’t rushing anything; we were simply following our hearts.”
Brown, who has spent much of her life in the public eye, admitted that being in a high-profile relationship comes with challenges, but she and Bongiovi have learned to navigate them together. “We’ve had our fair share of ups and downs, like any couple, but communication and trust have been our foundation,” she said.
When asked about her future with Bongiovi, Brown expressed excitement about the journey ahead. “We’re just enjoying being married and growing together. It’s about supporting each other’s dreams and being each other’s biggest cheerleaders.”
As for those who question their decision, Brown remains unfazed. “Love doesn’t have an age limit. It’s about finding the right person, and I was lucky enough to find mine early in life.”
