Dokken Announces Surprise EP Featuring Classic Lineup – A Final Gift to Fans
In a stunning and heartfelt announcement, legendary heavy metal band Dokken has revealed plans to release a surprise EP featuring the classic lineup of Don Dokken, George Lynch, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown. This unexpected project comes as a farewell gift to fans, capping off nearly five decades of music and marking a final collaboration between the iconic members.
The EP, tentatively titled Final Reckoning, will include four brand-new tracks and one reimagined version of their 1985 hit “In My Dreams.” Fans can expect a return to the band’s signature blend of melodic hooks, powerful guitar riffs, and emotionally charged lyrics. What makes this release even more special is that it will feature George Lynch and Don Dokken co-writing and recording together for the first time in years—a long-awaited moment many fans thought would never happen.
Don Dokken, who has hinted at retiring from touring due to health reasons, stated, “This is our way of saying thank you. We owe everything to our fans, and we wanted to give them one last ride.” George Lynch added, “Putting aside the past and just making music again felt right. The chemistry was still there.”
Scheduled for release in Fall 2025, the EP will be available on vinyl, CD, and all major streaming platforms. Accompanying the release will be a limited documentary, chronicling the recording sessions and the band’s journey over the years.
With their final tour winding down and this EP on the horizon, Dokken is giving fans the ultimate parting gift—proof that even after decades of ups and downs, true rock and roll never fades. For longtime listeners, this is more than just music—it’s the closing chapter of a legendary legacy.
