“Children of Bodom Announce Tribute Tour Honoring Alexi Laiho – Featuring Original Members and Special Guests”
In an emotional and long-awaited announcement, the surviving original members of Children of Bodom have officially revealed plans for a tribute tour in honor of their legendary frontman, Alexi Laiho. This marks the first time the band has come together publicly since their final 2019 performance and Alexi’s tragic passing in 2020.
The tour, titled “Hate Crew Forever: A Tribute to Alexi Laiho”, will bring back drummer Jaska Raatikainen, bassist Henkka Seppälä, and keyboardist Janne Wirman. They will be joined by a rotating cast of celebrated metal vocalists and guitarists, all of whom were inspired by Laiho’s groundbreaking work in melodic death metal.
This tribute is not intended as a full reunion, but rather a heartfelt celebration of Alexi’s life and legacy. The setlist will feature some of the band’s most iconic songs, including “Angels Don’t Kill,” “Needled 24/7,” and “Everytime I Die,” as well as rarely played fan favorites.
The band also announced a companion documentary, currently in production, which will explore Children of Bodom’s history, behind-the-scenes tour moments, and Alexi’s immense influence on the metal world.
To further commemorate the occasion, limited-edition reissues of Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll will be released, complete with remastered audio, previously unreleased demos, and Alexi’s personal notes and lyrics.
Pre-sale tickets for the tribute tour go live next week, with confirmed shows in Finland, Germany, Japan, and the United States.
For fans of Children of Bodom and Alexi Laiho, this announcement is more than just a tour—it’s a final chance to come together, celebrate the music, and honor one of metal’s most i
conic voices.
