Blackburn Rovers prices in list of most costly season tickets in the Championship

FLW compares the price of an Ewood Park season ticket to that of other venues in the division.

Blackburn Rovers and their supporters have endured a pretty miserable 2023/24 Championship campaign.

The Rovers faithful would have been expecting big things this season after a 2022/23 season which saw them just miss out on the play-offs in Jon Dahl Tomasson’s first season in charge at Ewood Park.

Many expected Rovers to kick on this season under Tomasson, but that isn’t how things have transpired. Instead, the former Malmö man left the club by mutual consent in February, with the club in the lower echelons of the table.

The team’s problems this season were exacerbated in the January transfer window when they reported the signing of Duncan McGuire, a striker, only to discover later that the deal had fallen through due to an administrative error.

Considering the current state of the cost of living, loyal Rovers supporters have had a difficult season, and this campaign hasn’t done anything to encourage them to renew their season tickets for the following one.

In light of this, we examined the cost of a Blackburn Rovers season ticket and how it stacks up against those of other teams in the Championship.

The price of a 2023–2024 Blackburn Rovers season ticket

Ewood Park

For the 2023–2024 season, the lowest adult Blackburn Rovers season ticket was £429. The lowest ticket for seniors was £299, £209 for those between the ages of 18 and 23, £120 for under-18s, and £60 for under-12s.

Category Price
Adult £429
Seniors £299
18-23 £209
U18 £120
U12 £60

But as with most stadiums, the cost of a ticket increases based on your preferred seat.

There were many alternatives for fans wishing to buy the cheapest ticket at Ewood Park, with season tickets available for £429 in the Riverside End, Blackburn End, Jack Walker Family Stand, and Jack Walker Lower Tier.

Nevertheless, you would have to pay an additional £100 at £529 if you wanted to seat in the Jack Walker Central, while the Jack Walker Outer would cost you £469 in addition.

The 2024–2025 season’s season ticket costs have not yet been announced, therefore it is unclear if they will increase. Supporters might be a little miffed by price increases after their disappointing season, but since football is a business, the team needs every dollar it can get given the unsettling circumstances surrounding the club’s owners, the Venky’s.

Season ticket costs for Blackburn Rovers in comparison to the rest of the Championship

Ewood Park general

According to the Stoke Sentinel, Rovers’ lowest season ticket prices of £429 place them as the fourth most costly team to watch in the Championship.

This is a bit of a shock and could help to explain why Blackburn often struggles to get Ewood Park full.

Though Blackburn charges a small sum for their cheapest season ticket, their average season ticket price is £475, which is significantly less than several clubs in the division, so this data is slightly skewed.

For instance, Leicester City’s average season ticket price is £590, which means that unless you choose the cheapest option, you will likely pay significantly more than you would at Ewood Park. The club’s cheapest season ticket is £385, which is less than Blackburn’s.

The most costly season tickets are available at Norwich City’s Championship. The cheapest season ticket at Carrow Road is £534, whilst the average price is a whopping £635.

They’re followed by Sheffield Wednesday, who charge £510 for their cheapest and £623 on average, and just behind them are Middlesbrough, who charge £480 for their cheapest and £565 on average.

The cheapest season ticket in the entire league can be found in West London, surprisingly. The cheapest season ticket for QPR is just £242, however, the average price is £482.

They’re followed by Cardiff City. The cheapest ticket at the Bluebirds is just £7 more expensive than at QPR, with the Welsh side charging £249 for their cheapest ticket.

Whilst Blackburn’s cheapest ticket is expensive, the average ticket price at Ewood Park is lower than plenty of Championship clubs so Rovers supporters can’t be too unhappy at what they get charged.
