Tony Mowbray is certain that Jay Stansfield will remain at Birmingham City and maintains that the forward is in high demand.

Tuesday night’s FA Cup victory for Blues over Hull City was secured by on-loan Fulham star Stansfield, who scored his ninth goal during a fruitful loan stint at St Andrew’s. The 21-year-old came off the bench to be a key component in the Blues’ victory.

Because Stansfield was worried Fulham might call him back and send him away, he has now appeared in all four of Blues’ January games. It has been reported that Ipswich Town, who are vying for promotion under Kieran McKenna, are interested in Stansfield.

Nonetheless, Mowbray is optimistic about holding onto his top scorer as he discusses Stansfield’s circumstances for the first time since taking over for Wayne Rooney. The manager of the Blues also stated that Fulham still has time to call up Stansfield.

“Over the past few days, I have been attempting to contact Marco.” Since Marco Silva and I get along well, I’m confident he would have let me know if there were any concerns or difficulties, Mowbray added.

“In the end, I believe the child adores it here. I’ve spoken with him one-on-one and looked him in the eye. I believe he wants to stay here and score goals, but there are other parties who may be interested. He enjoys the players and the changing area. He’s probably here to further his profession.

“He must compete in the Championship if he want to play in the Premier League. And occasionally, when a club that appears to be more successful emerges, one that is closer to the top of the table, you have to exercise caution. It could be wise to exercise caution so that you don’t go there and play in only two of the previous 19 games, as there’s a good likelihood he’ll play nearly every minute for this club. He’s at a decent spot, in my opinion, here.

“I’m not sure. But, if necessary, there is a very small window of time for things to happen right now.
