Tony Mowbray makes a significant transfer hint regarding Alex Pritchard as the Sunderland contract dispute heats up.

Mowbray drops big Alex Pritchard transfer hint after contract standoff escalatesTony Mowbray has made suggestions that Birmingham City is prepared to try and profit from Alex Pritchard’s disagreement over a deal with Sunderland.

Pritchard’s future on Wearside became increasingly questionable on Saturday as he withdrew from selection ahead of Stoke City’s visit to the Stadium of Light. Pritchard has turned down a one-year extension offer and is requesting permission to sign a longer contract elsewhere in exchange for more security.Turkey is reportedly interested, but according to Sunderland insiders, they have not received a bid yet and do not want to let him go for free, especially to a rival team in the Championship. Mowbray is well known for wanting to get back together, so there’s not much to quiet the rumors on Saturday.

“Let Sunderland get on with their business and wait and see what happens in the next five days,” Mowbray stated.

What I do know is that Alex Pritchard is a player with a strong sense of character and charisma who excels at dead ball management. We’ll watch things unfold and see what happens. I think I shouldn’t be talking about him because he is not one of our players, but we’ll see how things work out over the course of the next four or five days.

By bringing Andre Dozzell in on loan from QPR, Mowbray has already started to make changes to his Birmingham City team. The Blues are rumored to be close to signing Paik Sueng-Ho, a midfielder from South Korea, and Pritchard would undoubtedly elevate their choices.
