Simon Jordan believes that there will be numerous candidates interested in taking up the Birmingham City managerial position. However, he also cautioned the club to focus on earning points rather than praise in the upcoming season.

Birmingham City is on the hunt for their fourth manager during the Knighthead ownership era following Tony Mowbray’s decision to step down due to health concerns. Mowbray, aged 60, temporarily stepped away from his role in February for medical treatment, which proved to be a significant setback for Blues as they suffered relegation from the Championship.

The incoming manager will have the crucial task of guiding Blues back to the Championship in their first attempt in League One.

The club’s owners, the American investment firm Knighthead, aspire to lead Birmingham City to the Premier League and have outlined plans to establish a Sports Quarter in the city. However, their football-related decisions last season, particularly the appointment of Wayne Rooney instead of John Eustace, ultimately led to the club’s relegation.

Jordan, the former owner of Crystal Palace, emphasized the importance of on-field performance, stating that regardless of off-field initiatives, accountability lies in the team’s performance on the pitch.
