Birmingham City made a big move when they hired Chris Davies, the assistant coach of Tottenham Hotspur, as their new manager for a four-year contract. After Tony Mowbray left the position, Davies—who had extensive experience playing for Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic, and Leicester City—took over as manager. Spurs agreed on a compensation arrangement with the newly relegated League One team, as Davies had two years left on his contract.

Looking for a New Leader
Birmingham City considered approximately 40 applicants for the position of manager during the protracted search, which included well-known figures like Alex Neil and Frank Lampard. On May 21, the role became open because Mowbray resigned due to health concerns. Tom Wagner, the chairman and owner of the club, expressed his happiness at the appointment, saying, “It was evident from our first meeting that we shared the same ambitions for Blues and were aligned on values.”
