McKenna: Warm regards from all of us Visit Tony.

Town Manager Kieran McKenna said that everyone at the club is sending their best wishes to Blues great Tony Mowbray. Mowbray will not be at Portman Road tomorrow when his Birmingham City team visits because he will be overseas for several weeks receiving medical attention.

It was revealed earlier this week that Mowbray would be absent from Birmingham for six to eight weeks due to an undisclosed medical condition.

Following Wayne Rooney’s departure, the 60-year-old took over as manager of St Andrew’s at the beginning of January. Mark Venus, a fellow former Town defender, is supporting him, just as he has at his previous teams. While the guy known as Mogga is abroad, Venus will be in control of the Midlanders at Portman Road and for the remaining games.

McKenna remarked, “I think everyone’s very best wishes go to Tony first and foremost.” “He is so well-liked here, and everyone associated with Ipswich Town speaks so highly of him.

It’s unfortunate that he can’t be here tomorrow because I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him a few times through football and he really is a gentleman.

Although we wish him the best of luck in his recuperation, I’m sure he would have appreciated taking his Birmingham squad to Portman Road.

“He and Mark’s influence has been positive. It’s a pretty excellent squad profile, in my opinion.

They’ve already had an effect, picked up a few victories, and put on some really strong performances, so I believe they can carry out the concepts and mindset they want to instill in that team.

“Even against Leicester in the FA Cup, we had a great first half performance [before losing 3-0 in the end].” They’ve already had a noticeable effect, so we know this will be a difficult game.

In the fifth minute of tomorrow’s game, Town supporters will honor Mowbray, a former captain and coach who scored in the 2000 Wembley play-off final. The central defender wore the number five shirt while he was at Portman Road.
