For the first time, Gary Rowett has discussed his move back to Birmingham City.
As manager Tony Mowbray takes a long leave of absence that ends in the summer, Rowett has been named Blues’ interim manager until the end of the season. With eight games remaining in the season, the team is only eight points above the relegation zone on goal differential, and since Mowbray resigned his position due to health concerns, co-owner Tom Wagner resorted to Rowett.
On Wednesday, Rowett started working with the players on the practice field. Additionally, he disclosed to the club that he spoke with Mowbray prior to choosing to come back, during his first day in charge.
