Leeds United have no fresh injury news to report on ahead of the Birmingham City clash on New Year’s Day. The big talking point as far as absentees are concerned is whether Pascal Struijk will feature given his omission against West Bromwich Albion.

Liam Cooper was drafted in for his first start in eight games and Struijk was not part of the matchday squad. The official reason was an adductor injury but reports have linked him with a January move.

Links to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain took Leeds fans by surprise in midweek, with Dutch outlet Voetbal International claiming he is on their radar. Struijk has been one of the standout performers for the Whites in 2023-24 and club chief Angus Kinnear revealed Premier League interest following relegation last season.

The other omission is Illan Meslier, who is set to serve the second game of a three-match ban. Karl Darlow has stepped in and will likely do so again when Birmingham travel to Elland Road.

Jamie Shackleton remains sidelined as well as long-term absentee Stuart Dallas, who is approaching two years since his last appearances. Aside from that, Daniel Farke boasts a near full-strength squad as he aims to get back to winning ways on home soil.

Back-to-back defeats over the festive period dealt a major setback to United’s automatic promotion hopes and ended a dismal 2023 on a low. Ahead of the first game in 2024, LeedsLive has profiled which players are available to take on Birmingham.
