In his post-match debrief in the dressing room, Rooney told his players to build on a momentous three points against Cardiff. The win was sealed by Juninho Bacuna’s strike in first half stoppage time and ended a run of eight straight away defeats. Rooney wants to taste more victories now. “I’ve just said that to them,” he said. “Enjoy coming away from home and getting three points, but we’ve got another very difficult game coming up on Monday. We didn’t really give them any chances, we didn’t look like conceding a goal, and then we had two or three really good chances to get the second goal. “I’m really pleased with the performance but tonight was more for us. It’s been a difficult few weeks for everyone, results wise, so tonight was more about the result. I’m delighted for the players, I see it day in, day out. They put a lot of work
