Exclusive: Steve Bruce keen on stunning Birmingham City return

According to Football Insider, Steve Bruce is interested in returning to Birmingham City as manager for the upcoming season if the position opens up.

Bruce, 63, is not yet ready to end his managerial career and still hopes to lead a new squad, with a probable vacancy at his former club putting him on edge.

Following their relegation from the Championship, which was formally confirmed despite a win against Norwich on the final day of the season, Birmingham could look to the veteran manager to help them climb back up.

He is thought to have informed his former team that he is interested in the position, which will be in League One next season if it is available.

Bruce, who had gained promotion twice in his last term with the Blues, both from the Championship to the Premier League, presents an intriguing, if unusual, possibility.

Steve Bruce is in the running to take over as Birmingham City manager.
