Middlesbrough has won the race to sign Leeds United defender Luke Ayling, outmaneuvering Championship rivals Birmingham City and Sheffield United. According to reports, Middlesbrough is in the lead to secure Ayling’s signature on a permanent deal this summer. Ayling, who was on loan at Middlesbrough during the January transfer window, is nearing the end of his contract with Leeds United and has yet to agree to an extension.
Ayling’s experience and versatility have made him a valuable target for Middlesbrough as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. The 32-year-old defender, known for his solid performances and leadership, has previously played for Yeovil Town, Bristol City, and Leeds United, accumulating significant experience in the Football League.
