Club rekindle interest in Birmingham City man

Atalanta have rekindled their interest in Birmingham City’s 19-year-old midfielder Jordan James ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Serie A club were interested in getting their hands on the teenage midfielder in January and approached Birmingham to agree on a deal.

Blues were prepared to move on the midfielder but wanted a fee of €10m before agreeing to sell him.

James still managed to impress this season despite Birmingham getting relegated from the Championship, scoring eight times in 42 league appearances.

According to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tutto Mercato), Atalanta are again interested in getting their hands on the teenager.

They have continued to track James this season despite failing to sign him in the winter.

Atalanta believed that Birmingham were asking for too much money and felt James would be available for a lower fee.

The club are plotting to approach the League One club again this summer as they push to land the Welshman.
