It appears that the Chicago Bears have decided that there won’t be a future for Justin Fields with their team. The Bears seem certain to choose USC star and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Blake Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after three seasons with no progres.
“Appear” is, of course, the crucial word. Fields is still a Bear until he isn’t, and nothing will be official until it is. Nevertheless, it is widely believed that Chicago is merely searching for the best deal and that he will be traded.
The Chicago Bears Could Trade Justin Fields to Any Number of NFL Teams
At the proper price, Fields may be added by a number of teams that are in need of a quarterback. However, a few of these teams, like the Bears, want to add a young quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Washington Commanders and New England Patriots are two teams that are not heavily involved in the trade rumors surrounding Fields.
However, certain teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Atlanta Falcons, and even the Pittsburgh Steelers, who play in the same division as Chicago, are in a position where they need a quarterback but do not have a high enough draft pick to get one. As a result, in recent days, rumors have connected Fields to each of these teams.
Fields is from Georgia, so it goes without saying that the Falcons are an interesting squad.
Justin Fields Addresses the Possibility of Playing for the Atlanta Falcons
On a podcast run by his brother, Amon-Ra St. Brown, an All-Pro wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, and teammate Equanimeous St. Brown, Fields was a guest. They inquired about Fields’ thoughts on representing his home state squad while interviewing the former Ohio State star:

“It would be tough in Atlanta.” The one drawback to returning home would be the constant barrage of calls on my phone. wishing to purchase game tickets.
However, I believe their team is full of playmakers. They got by youngster Kyle Pitts, Bijan Robinson, and of course Drake London. They have some men over there, but they certainly need one more receiver.
If Fields’ main concern is receiving too many requests for tickets from friends and family, the Falcons seem like a great fit.
What Would It Take for the Atlanta Falcons to Get Justin Fields in a Trade?
Fields is being traded to the Bears in return for a late first-round pick. Naturally, the Falcons will select eighth and would prefer not to trade Fields for a top-ten pick.
Atlanta may package a second and third round pick, which are equivalent to a late third round pick, in place of a late first round pick. The Falcons would (ideally) get their quarterback of the future in a trade including those picks (and perhaps a pick exchange of eight and nine) and would still have access to a top-ten pick for a wide receiver.
