One of the favorites to earn Coach of the Year in 2024 is Raheem Morris.

NFL: JAN 23 NFC Divisional Round Rams at Buccaneers

Raheem Morris has a lot of expectations for his debut season with the Falcons.

Arthur Blank did not choose to fire Arthur Smith in order to show Morris patience. If Atlanta’s new head coach doesn’t perform in 2024, he might not be searching for a new position in the offseason, although improvement is anticipated.

Raheem Morris joins the Falcons, who have finished in the bottom ten for three straight seasons despite having a good team. The upgrading at quarterback will be the primary priority.

In the end, the performance of Atlanta’s signal callers cost his predecessor his job. Morris’s position may also be in jeopardy if he proposes another half-measure. But if he makes the right choice in acquiring Terry Fontenot, the Falcons will instantly rise to the top of the conference.

Though it’s still uncertain the direction Fontenot and Morris will go in with the new league season just a few weeks away, oddsmakers are optimistic that Atlanta’s new head coach will succeed in 2024.

On February 26, DraftKings listed Raheem Morris as having the third-best chance of winning Coach of the Year in 2024. The overwhelming favorite, Jim Harbaugh, is listed at +550. Matt LaFleur is next at +850, Raheem Morris is at +1000, Mike Macdonald is at +1400, and Demco Ryans and Shane Steichen are both at +1500.

Raheem Morris’s hire by the Falcons was overwhelmingly well-received. Several of the top figures in the game, like Les Snead, Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Mike Tomlin, and Jalen Ramsey, were happy to see the hire.

He’s a pretty damn fine head coach for the Falcons, if his peers and the Vegas oddsmakers are right.
