Gilberto Silva now pictured with £100m player after claims Arsenal are on the move to sign him this summer

Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva has been pictured with one of Mikel Arteta’s key transfer targets for this summer.

The Gunners are anticipated to make significant moves in the upcoming transfer window. They require reinforcements to compete with Manchester City and have been linked with several top players.

One such player has recently been seen with an Arsenal legend, Gilberto Silva.

Arsenal is expected to sign at least one new midfielder this summer.

Mohamed Elneny will depart from the Gunners in July, and Thomas Partey along with Albert Sambi Lokonga might be sold in the coming months.

Should this occur, Arsenal will be left with only Jorginho and Declan Rice in midfield, which is insufficient for an entire season.

Acquiring a new midfielder is crucial, and among the names linked to a move to the Emirates is Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian international has a £100 million release clause in his contract (Guardian), but reports suggest Arsenal believes they can secure him for less.

TBR Football exclusively reported in April that Arsenal is prepared to pursue the Brazilian if there are signs he wants to leave.

On Tuesday, Guimaraes and Arsenal legend Gilberto shared photos on Instagram.

Gilberto interviewed the Newcastle star for ESPN Brazil, sparking hopes among Arsenal fans that their Invincible might have encouraged Guimaraes to consider a summer move to the Emirates.

After Gilberto posted several photos with him on Instagram, Guimaraes commented: “Fenômeno!”

What Newcastle United has told Bruno Guimaraes about a summer transfer

Guimaraes is one of Newcastle’s top players.

The Brazilian has been at St James’ Park for two and a half years and is a fan favorite. He has performed exceptionally well, making the Magpies eager to retain him.

TBR Football exclusively revealed in May that Newcastle informed Guimaraes’ representatives that he will not be sold this summer – the only way he could leave is if his release clause is activated.

Arsenal is eager to sign Guimaraes but is unwilling to meet the £100 million price. This clause, however, expires on June 30th.

The coming weeks will be crucial for Guimaraes, Newcastle, and all interested clubs.
