Many excellent League One players have contracts that are about to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Even though Pompey’s status in League One for this season is still up in the air, Rich Hughes, the sporting director for the Blues, is already making plans for the summer transfer market.

The chief recruiter for the Blues is always thinking ahead and making plans for the future, so it’s safe to assume he is aware of the players who might become free agents at the end of the current season.

However, taking a look at the third-tier’s potential free agent pool reveals that the Blues would benefit from having a number of talented players who are in the last few months of their present contracts join them wherever they end up in the upcoming campaign.
