The club lost its final six games away from Toyota Center because to difficulties they had on the road, particularly in the final two weeks without Fred VanVleet.

All things considered, though, the Rockets are better than they have been, as seen by their placement of No. 19, which is three spots higher than it was the week before in CBS Sports’ power rankings.

“Ime Udoka has taken the Rockets from the 29th-ranked defense in the NBA a season ago to sixth(!) this year,” reports CBS Sports. “Surely the additions of Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks help in that department, but Udoka has gotten buy-in from the young guys as well, a positive sign moving forward as Houston looks to become a legitimate playoff contender.”

The All-Star point guard has been cleared to play and is anticipated to play at home against the Phoenix Suns tomorrow and tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. Udoka will get VanVleet back for the final stretch.
