Falcons favored to land Kirk Cousins in free agency if he leaves Vikings

Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings is one of the biggest names that could be open for grabs in the NFL’s upcoming free agency class. Just before the halfway point of the 2023 season, Cousins suffered an Achilles tendon tear that took him out of the Vikings starting lineup.

During his 12 years in the NFL, he has been a very popular player and an accurate passer. Before joining the Vikings, he played for Washington for the first six years of his career.

When he becomes a free agency, the seasoned quarterback is probably going to want a sizable contract and signing bonus. The quarterback has expressed his desire to stay with the Vikings, and players like Jordan Addison and wide receiver Justin Jefferson have backed him up.

Cousins and the Vikings have, however, frequently faltered while playing NFC elite teams, so general manager Kwesi Adof0-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell must be wondering if that will alter going forward.

SUGGESTIBLE

Cousins is a free agent, and if the Vikings decide against drafting him, BetOnline projects that the Atlanta Falcons will be the team to sign him to a new deal. To add Cousins, the Falcons are listed at +200. The Denver Broncos are at +400, the New England Patriots are at +600, and the New Orleans Saints are at +900.

Even with his injury from the previous season, Kirk Cousins has proven to be a very resilient player. In the past twelve years, that was the first serious injury he has experienced. Having completed 66.9 percent of his passes with 270 touchdowns and 110 interceptions, Cousins is a four-time Pro Bowl player.
