Dion Sanderson is prepared to go back

Dion Sanderson ready to return

Mark Venus was able to provide an encouraging update on the fitness of Dion Anderson ahead of the Sky Bet Championship fixture with Ipswich Town.
The defender, who has not featured since Blues’ 1-2 away victory over Stoke City last month following an ankle injury, returned to training 10 days ago.

He was not involved in the defeats to Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday or the victories over Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland, but will be back in contention for the trip to Portman Road on Saturday 24 February, kick-off 3pm.

Speaking to Blues TV at the Birmingham City Elite Performance and Innovation Centre, Venus confirmed that the Men’s First Team captain would be available for selection.

“He’s trained for about the last 10 days so he will be available for the squad and it’s another good player that we have got available for selection.

“It’s a problem, but it’s a nice problem really when you have got 24 players you can pick from and you can only have 18 outfield players.”
